I had the misfortune of hearing both these songs on the same day.
Vote please, on which song you think is the most annoying.
I will publish the results along with cutting analysis and insight.
I know there are songs of lesser quality, and there are horrible, dissonant songs intentionally made to annoy. But the two below songs are different. THESE WERE HITS. That means a lot of people actually liked them. What were they thinking?
WARNING:Get one of syrupy beasts stuck in your head and you’ll be reaching for the Tijuana Brass just to cleanse your brain’s palette. I think both these songs are equally annoying, but YOU MAKE THE CALL.
I invite civilized chat in the comments section below. I have included a link to the Tijuana Brass to help you avoid a day or two of hellish brain-song. It works like atropine does on a nerve agent.
Warning wasn't alarming enough. I made it 55 years, 5 months and 10 days without ever hearing "Yummy Yummy Yummy". I didn't make it past 15 seconds of the clip. It wins the most annoying song contest no matter what you put it up against.
Almost 57 years for me, Daryl, but I was captivated by the moment. I'll take the reverse approach and say that Strawberry Alarm Clock has the least worst of the lip-syncing and even has a little Beach Boys vibe in the bridge. At least the lead singer carried his faked notes all the way through the measure!

I agree with Daryl. I remember bopping along to "Incense and Peppermints" but could never stand "Yummy Yummy Yummy," even as a kid!

It has to be Yummy, clearly
